	THRIVE WORKOUT FACILITY OPEN

	Thanks to funding from Thrive on Wellness & Bassano Ag Society we have opened a workout facility for community members. The $5. user permits daily entrance/useage of equipment at the facility. For regular users we have a $75. Punch Card with 25 visits. These cards can be purchased at the Town Office or the Workout facility located at 429-10A Street. Operating hours are Mon, Wed, Fri 8-11am & 4-7pm plus Sat 1-4pm. Many thnaks to our host volunteers who make it all possible. Check it out you may be pleasantly surprised!

	IMPORTANCE OF HOUSE NUMBERS

	A concern has been raised in the Town of Bassano regarding house numbering. There are three areas of concern. One being the lack of visible numbers on existing or new construction, the visibility of numbers obscured by trees\bushes or no house numbers are placed on buildings at all. Various newly constructed or moved in homes within the Town of Bassano have no numbers displayed on the outside of these structures. It is difficult for emergency response personnel to identify buildings and this may delay the response time, placing residents in jeopardy of not receiving early intervention. In the more established areas of the Town, numbers are not visible from the road in some cases due to large trees blocking their visibility from the road or the numbers are not large enough to be seen from the emergency vehicle. There is a Town bylaw in place requiring all buildings to be numbered in accordance with the Town’s street numbering map. As this is a safety issue, the Emergency Service Departments in Bassano are urging all residents to ensure their properties are numbered and visible from the street. Thought should also be given to displaying numbers at the rear of buildings where access is available by a rear alley as emergency response personnel are sometimes required to access a building from an alley.
